This may be how it was. But who wants to see how it was, when it was boring? In a Gangstermovie you have to think: They must have made that up. But if this is how it was - wow, those guys where brilliant. But here it"s just: Oh, they hid guns in box and now they escape. Yep, seen that before. Nobody in this movie ever pulls a brilliant trick, neither to good nor the bad guys. And the characters aren"t any better. Non of them is developing in any way. But they should, cause they a terrible the way they are. John Dillinger is a live-for-the-moment guy who"s in love with a girl. But their love story is just: You"re my girl, you know I"ll watch after you! And Melvin Purvis haven"t got any personality at all. Last of all the camera is gross. Way too hectic, often too close and some times in very strange ankles. It seems as they tried to cut as infrequent as possible. Like in Children of Men - just bad. Only good thing were, sad to say so, the shootouts. Despite the fact that they ain"t clever either - but shootouts just doesn"t have to.
